We've all by now seen the US election has been counted and the result was not what the vast majority of the LGBTQIA+ community had hoped. I think it's time that our entire community take stock and remind ourselves what is important. Many things have been said over the last 24 hours, but is important to remember there is always positives and our community is as strong as ever.
Transgender Victoria posted this today (7 November 2024):
"Sending love to our trans siblings everywhere. Look after yourself and your loved ones, and please reach out to one of these support services if you need help.
If you want to be with other transgender, gender diverse and non-binary people, visit the Trans Month website for a range of events and activities happening throughout November."

One of the numerous LGBTQIA+ groups on Facebook has also posted:
"It’s going to be okay no matter what happens, I believe that. I’m terrified of what it’s going to cost. Please remember as long as you are alive there is one more of us. Please remember as long as people can continue to rediscover our existence there will always be people who find home within us. Please remember even if you have to go into hiding there is an entire community waiting for you to return, cheering you on even without contact. You are valued and cherished by so many people who have never even seen your face or spoken a word with you simply because you are you and you exist, please believe that with all of your heart no matter what. Please continue living no matter how you have to do it."
